- Visit Account & Settings in your online Square Dashboard.
- In the Personal Information tab, scroll to the bottom of the page and select Deactivate account.
- Select a reason from the dropdown list and enter your verification code. Then go through and make sure everything is updated before confirming deactivation with Deactivate
If you ever want to deactivate your Square account, the fastest way is simply to close the app or website. If you’d like a preview of what’s going to happen, visit the Account Settings page and look at “What happens when I sign out?”. To completely delete your account:
Step 1: Go to squareup.com/account/settings and log in (or sign up if this is your first time)
Step 2: Select Delete Account from the menu on the left under Your Profile. You’ll be prompted with some safety checks, after which you will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to proceed.
Step 3: Enter the given password, and click continue. You can then review any pending charges or pay them as normal, and you’ll have an opportunity to get in touch with support if there’s anything else you’d like to do.
Important Note: Please note that Square will only delete your personal information (e.g. your credit card info, profile picture). If you used a company email address to log in when creating your account, we cannot delete it for you from our end – please contact whoever manages that email domain directly for assistance with addressing the issue from their side.
Pending deposits will prohibit deactivation of your Square account.
Once you deactivate your Square account, all earnings are placed in a reserve account for up to 90 days.
Within “Settings,” go to “Application.” Underneath, select “Manage Applications” and then tap the Square app. From there, use the X-button to force quit it.
Go to your Online dashboard.
Select Item > Categories.
Delete the category you want to delete by checking next to it.
If you would like to reactivate your Square for Retail Free or Square for Retail Plus account, please do so from the online Square Dashboard.
Login to your account at squareup.com > navigate to Account & Settings > select Pricing and Subscriptions and click on either “Square for Retail Free” or “Square for Retail Plus.
